As a photographer, my goal is to communicate in visual form the diverse sources of inspiration found within our culture and beyond.

Ricky Q. is an Ecuadorian-Colombian photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. He studied psychology at Universidad Católica and music performance and production at Universidad San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. In 2007, he ventured to the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, where he served as a community outreach specialist for Blue Ridge Community Health Center, aiding migrant farmworkers in accessing healthcare.

In 2010, Ricky relocated to New York City. Since then, he has held several positions in the performing arts and entertainment industries, including sales associate at the Metropolitan Opera and intern at the production office of BAM. His roles expanded as he became the Artistic Coordinator for Opera America, followed by his tenure at Columbia Artists Management, where he oversaw operations for numerous opera singers, directors, and conductors. Additionally, he was part of the initial production team of the WQXR/WNYC opera podcast Aria Code, which led to his induction into SAG-AFTRA.

Ricky's photography work has appeared in The New York Times and various fashion and editorial magazines, including Faddy Italy, Elegant, and Picton. Additionally, his food photography has been featured on platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Caviar.

In 2023, Ricky was recognized with the Director's Fellowship scholarship in Documentary Visual Storytelling at the International Center of Photography in New York City. In 2024, he was a finalist in the Life As You See It photo competition, and his work was featured at the FujiFilm House of Photography in London.
